The modern picture is taken slightly nearer the church (note that the steeple has gone) as there has been a considerable growth of trees which prevented an exact comparison.
During the 1930's a picture was taken of a group of locals in the pub. In 1999 Richard Telford-Baillie recreated the picture with the current locals.

Jupes cottage stood just past the driveway (to Shalfleet Manor). It was demolished in 1956 to enable the road to be widened.
